Ohio Promises $10 Million for Lake Erie

13-Jan-2019

As part of the Healthy Lake Erie Fund, the State Controlling Board, the Ohio Department of Natural Resources and the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency approved $10 million to help clean and protect the water.

Different programs that aim to ease the navigation in Toledo, Lorain and Conneaut’s ports, will help brownfield sites, construction and habitat restoration projects.

“Lake Erie is Ohio’s greatest natural resource and ensuring its health is vital for the continued success of the communities, businesses and families that depend on it,” says Jim Zehringer, the director of the ODNR. “These projects represent a shared commitment between federal, state and local partners in helping to protect this Great Lake for generations.”
