NMMA Celebrates 2015 Advocacy Victories

Each year, the National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA) advocates for a slew of different initiatives that promote recreational boating. At the turn of the new year, NMMA took a look back at their advocacy efforts for 2015 with a list of their top 20 advocacy successes.

The number one advocacy victory spot was given to all the grassroots work that went into the introduction of nine new pieces of legislation calling for reform to the Renewable Fuel Standard. This eventually led the EPA to set renewable volume obligations to lower levels, thus preventing a large amount of E15 into the marketplace.

Other advocacy efforts that stand out include: newly enabled recreational vessel travel to Cuba, finalization of the Trans Pacific Partnership (TTP) agreement and a finalized General Management Plan for Everglades National Park. Additional victories on the list include raising money, passing legislation in the House and Senate, and adding members to the Congressional Boating Caucus.
