Music Stars Rebuild Boats

This April, you’ll be able to see 90s music star Edwin McCain, famous for his hit, “I’ll Be,” flip boats with his country music star friend, Darius Rucker, former frontman of Hootie and the Blowfish and now a successful solo artist.

In an all-new Animal Planet series called “Flipping Ships,” premiering April 24, McCain steps up to the challenge of restoring abandoned boats with his nautical crew at Boats Have Souls.

In the series premiere, McCain partners with fellow singer and longtime friend Darius Rucker for a boat flip to benefit one of their favorite charities, the Medical University of South Carolina Children’s Hospital. The singers will build the ultimate Rock-n-Roll speedboat to be auctioned off for charity.

Throughout the season, McCain and his team take on: A rare 1970s Yukon Delta boat, which McCain best describes as “what happens when a boat and an RV have a baby”; a pontoon boat, which the team hopes to turn into a floating tailgate spot; and a rare truck camper, which McCain converts into a floating family retreat.
