Fort Lauderdale Boat Show Undergoes Tweaks

Returning boat show attendees might notice a few changes to this year’s 2016 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, which takes place November 3-7. Organizers told the Sun-Sentinel that they have made a few tweaks to improve upon last year’s event.

Boat show attendees should keep an eye out for redesigned exhibition space and a few name changes. Exhibitions at the Bahia Mar in particular have undergone name changes. There are also some new additions to the show, such as a larger selection of food and beverage options, including a new buffet on the second floor of the convention center site.

For boaters new to the game, this year’s show will have boat-handling skills training for first-time boaters. Training sessions will include basic and advanced docking skills, anchoring, rafting techniques, open water boat handling and first mate skills.

One addition boaters should take into consideration immediately is the new “Bring a Friend to FLIBS” travel contest. The winner will receive domestic round-trip airfare for two to the show, a two-night hotel stay, and four boat show tickets. Boaters can enter to win until September 1 at the Fort Lauderdale Boat Show Facebook page.
