Associations Launch Online Marine Career Center

Boating Industry and a number of trade associations in the marine industry have teamed up to launch the Marine Industry Career Network. Organizers say they hope the new online career portal will help attract skilled employees to the marine industry.

“Our dealers are struggling through what we see as the greatest workforce crisis this industry has ever seen,” says Matt Gruhn, president of MRAA. “We’ve heard it anecdotally, and our soon-to-be-published Workforce Assessment Report clearly demonstrates that we have an enormous shortage of qualified job seekers in the marine industry.”

The Marine Industry Career Network will be free for job seekers and allow them to peruse jobs through Boating Industry, American Boat and Yacht Council, Marine Retailers Association of the Americas, the National Marine Manufacturers Association, and the National Marine Distributors Association. Each association will host their own career center, which then feeds into the larger network. Employers will be able to post jobs, search for candidates based on certain criteria, and email job candidates with matching profiles.
