2016 Antique Boat Museum Symposium Set For May


Classic and antique boat lovers should mark their calendars for the weekend of May 13-15. The Antique Boat Museum is partnering up with the Antique & Classic Boat Society to host this year’s Symposium — a weekend of workshops for classic boat care and repair — in Clayton, New York.

The Antique Boat Museum features more than 300 classic and antique boats, as well as a plethora of recreational boating artifacts. The museum hosts the longest-running antique boat show in North America, and is also considered the birthplace of antique raceboat regattas.

This year’s Symposium with feature workshops on repair techniques for vintage fiberglass boats, basic restoration techniques in wood repair and finishing, on utilizing inboard and outboard motors and more. 

Registration is $199 for adults and $100 for youth under 18 years old. Be sure not to dally though — after April 25, prices jump to $255 and $110, respectively. Registration costs cover lesson materials and a few meals throughout the weekend.
