Boston Whaler 270 Vantage

Versatile boating fun the Boston Whaler way.

By Ken Kreisler
Since its inception some 60 years ago, Boston Whaler has always put its reputation on the line by providing its owners with a safe, well-built boat and a company that stands behind each and every vessel leaving its production facility.

And with the 270 Vantage — one of three in the Vantage line — that idea is fully realized.

Besides her racy good looks and well-balanced profile, the 270 Vantage presents herself as adaptable to any and all fun on the water ideas one may have.

“This is a true no-compromise boat,” says Jeff Vaughn, Boston Whaler’s vice president of sales, marketing and customer service. “Vantage strikes the perfect balance between comfort, ease and inclusiveness on one hand, and capable, rugged, multifaceted performance on the other.”

This is the kind of boat that does not belong tied to a dock. Should fishing action be up on your radar screen, her optional fishing package includes a trio of stainless steel, transom-mounted rod holders, a 19-gallon lighted livewell, raw water washdown and stainless steel toe rails with a handy and convenient under-gunwale storage shelf.

With a long list of Mercury power options, including twin Verado 300-hp V8 and joystick-controlled engines (a pair of 200-hp V6 DTS Four-Strokes are standard), you are off the dock and quickly in on the action. According to Whaler’s data, its test boat with standard power reached a top-end speed of 53.2 mph and a mid-range cruise of 25.6 mph.

Another unique optional feature aboard is the summer kitchen offering utensil holders, a refrigerator and an electric grill. Additional choices include a waterski pylon, bow filler cushion, wakeboard racks, watersports tower, stainless steel windshield cap and fiberglass hardtop.

Comfort features, such as a multifunctional portside seat, fold-up transom bench, cockpit coaming bolsters, walk-through windshield and access to the head opposite the starboard helm (a VacuFlush toilet is available as an option) make your time aboard the 270 Vantage easy and relaxed. The helm offers clear and unobstructed views all around with a well-laid-out console and a comfortable seat for sitting or leaning.

Everything from fishing to cruising to watersports is yours when that boat is a Boston Whaler 270 Vantage.
