Stranded On Land
A 100-foot yacht found the town of Alexandria, Louisiana to be less than ideal for navigation. Traffic on Main Street was shut down for an hour after the tractor trailer hauling the ship became stuck trying to make a turn.

Movers from Botewerks, LLC, based in Monticello, Kentucky, were attempting to move the boat to Dallas, Texas on a state-approved route but ran into trouble on the way. "The state gaves us this way, so here we are," mover Jim Chaplin told thetowntalk.com, as he attempted to guide the truck backwards on Main Street after it became apparent that moving forward would not be an option as the truck could not turn wide enough to negotiate the route.

Workers along the way had to trim limbs off of oak trees and remove stop signs to allow the truck to travel backwards, eventually making it to the ramp leading on to the Purple Heart Bridge and allowing the journey to continue.

Traffic was snarled as those in cars watched the truck make its painful reverse trek inch by inch but no one was heart and no structural damage was done to any of the surrounding buildings.

Law enforcement then called Baton Rouge to get state approval to reroute the truck, taking a different route around the city to eventually meet up with the pre-planned, state approved route.
