| Monumentally Eclipsing Cruise Ship |
An enormous cruise ship floated sedately down the River Thames, dwarfing London's famous monuments and casting its shadow over the land before dropping anchor in front of the Tower Bridge, making the bridge itself appear miniscule.
Built in 2000, the Azamara Journey cruise ship measures roughly 30,000 tons and is 593 feet long. She was built in 2000 and set sail last year. She carries 694 passesngers and 407 crew members. Those on board will spend two days anchored by the Tower Bridge before leaving for St. Malo, France.
Guest on the ship receive butler service in every stateroom and suite plus concierge-style amenities, plasma TVs and plush European bedding.
"Azamara Cruises was expressly designed for travel enthusiasts who appreciate what a cruise vacation has to offer, but are looking for something a little different, and a little more special," Azamara Cruises President and CEO Dan Hanrahan told the Daily Mail. "And what's special about Azamara is its distinctive combination of impeccable service, exceptional cuisine, and off-the-beaten-path destinations, with immersive shore excursions."
