| Largest Catamaran Debuts |
In the ever continuing quest to make something larger, the catamaran Hemisphere is set to become the largest catamaran ever at 145 feet long with a gross tonnage of slightly under 500.
Built by Derecktor Shipyards with an innovative design filled with practical features in a blending of speed and stability, Hemisphereboats a draft of only 9.8 feet despite her massive size. With the added maneuverability that draft brings, Hemisphere, to be used for chartering in the Caribbean, will be able to enter ports and lagoons that monohulls of a similar size cannot.
All of the lines for the 174 foot mast has no spreaders as all of the lines run inside of it. The decks are uncluttered and visible deck hardware is at a minimum and tenders are stored out of sight.
Designed with luxury in mind, Hemisphere has a flybridge with jacuzzi, sunpads and shaded dining. Massive interior volume accommodates 12 guests in five ensuite cabins. A crew of eight is onboard to operate the yacht which can be chartered at a starting rate of $150,000 per week plus operating expenses.
