| Locking the St. Lawrence |
Did you know that having the latest edition of either U.S. or Canadian Great Lakes charts is a requirement for all vessels transiting the St. Lawrence Seaway?
It is also required that vessels have the latest editions of publications such as: U.S. Coast Pilot, U.S. Light List, Canadian Sailing Directions, Canadian Radio Aids, Canadian Light Lists, and all of the latest Notices to Mariners.

Pleasure craft operators should have up-to-date nautical charts for the waters they are sailing. Nautical charts as well as catalogs of charts and nautical publications may be ordered from the following agencies:

Check the lock schedule before you begin transiting or you might find yourself stuck waiting! Lockages are scheduled between the hours of 07:00 and 19:00 from June 1 to Sept 15. At other times Pleasure Craft lockages will be performed around commercial vessels on a best effort basis.
This online schedul is updated twice daily, at approximately 7:30 and 13:00. Lock service should be provided within the hour following the time indicated. Crafts should be at the locks at the indicated time to be sure to be serviced within that one-hour period.
