Freedom Boat Club Partners With Big Brothers Big Sisters

08-Mar-2016

This spring, the Freedom Boat Club is partnering up with Big Brothers Big Sisters of America to help raise awareness and funds through a “Boating Big! All Aboard for the Littles” campaign.

Freedom Boat Club is the oldest and largest boat club in the nation, with more than 10,000 members in 21 states. Big Brothers Big Sisters is an equally impressive organization, with more than 300 affiliates serving 170,000 children. Through Big Brothers Big Sisters, 6-18-year-olds, or “Littles,” are matched with adult volunteers, or “Bigs.” It is the largest volunteer-supported mentoring network in the U.S.

“We selected Big Brothers Big Sisters of America because we love the idea of giving back to kids,” says Freedom Boat Club president and CEO John Giglio. “We are especially pleased that the majority of the funds we raise will go directly to support and benefit the good work done by the local affiliates. Our council also loved the idea of creating memorable experiences for young people by taking them for boat rides."

Freedom Boat Clubs will host a variety of fundraising initiatives and special events with Big Brothers Big Sisters affiliates, culminating in a nationwide “All on Deck” boating party on May 14. This final event will feature boat rides, lunch and entertainment for Bigs and Littles.
