The results are in and the winners have been announced from the Door County Maritime Museum Classic & Wooden Boat Festival, which took place August 12-13 in Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin. The overall winner and fan favorite boat for the festival was a 17-foot Penobscot 17 brought in by Rich and Nancy Kapellen of Sheboygan. The Penobscot 17 (pictured above) won both the People’s Choice Award winner and Best of Show.

The oldest boat to be featured in the show was the 1895 16-foot Warren Cole Adirondack Guideboat, the Long Lake, brought in by John and Sandi Seaman of Sheboygan. The Long Lake won people’s choice voting in the Non-Powered Craft class. Other winners include: Russ Cihlar from Sturgeon Bay with his Amphicar Surf & Turf, which won the Unique Craft award; Lew and Judy Juadis of Sturgeon Bay with a 1957 18-foot Cruisers INC 502 Vacationer for the Classic Outboard award; Roberta and Rich Hegy of East Troy with a 2015 19-foot Flen L Torpedo homebuilt (the only in existence) for the Classic Inboard award; and finally, Jim and Tina Jordan of Algoma with a 1969 16-foot Steury V-416 for the Fiberglass award.
