Boating Apps Dockwa and ActiveCaptain Team Up

02-Aug-2016

If you need any more proof that the boating world has definitely entered the information-sharing age, look no further than the recent partnership between popular boating apps Dockwa and ActiveCaptain.

The Dockwa app allows boaters to reserve slips at participating marinas online and by app, and ActiveCaptain is known for its active boating forum. Through their partnership, boaters will be able to access and leave marina reviews after making a reservation with Dockwa. Much like Yelp, this reservation and review system will help boaters select the best marina for them, while allowing the marinas to share information about their amenities with boaters.

“As the leading online forum to allow for instant, crowd-sourced boater updates and reviews, ActiveCaptain has been a technology leader in the boating industry for nearly a decade,” says Mike Melillo, CEO at Dockwa in a statement. “We're excited to have engineered a system to bring boaters and marinas an enhanced ability to submit reviews, as well as provide broader visibility into a marina's quality of service.
