AquaFest Hits the Nautical Mile July 15-17

07-Jul-2016

On July 15-17, the St. Clair Shores AquaFest Event will once again bring together people of all interests and ages for a weekend of entertainment, food and drink sampling, shopping, and celebrating the nautical lifestyle. AquaFest takes place along St. Clair Shores’ Nautical Mile, a mile-long strip along Jefferson Avenue chock-full of restaurants, stores, marinas, outfitters and local businesses.

The event kicks off at 7 p.m. on July 15 with the popular Beer & Wine Pub Crawl. Wristbands for the event are $20 and can be purchased at select participating restaurants or at eventbrite.com.

For those looking for a “hair of the dog” cure to Friday’s pub crawl, there will be a pancake breakfast and bloody Mary/mimosa bar starting at 10 a.m. July 16 at the Jefferson Yacht Club. Throughout the day, attendees can also participate in the family fishing derby, the kids fun run, fine art in the park, a craft show and fowling, a watermelon eating contest, or a meet and greet with captain Sam Buchanan of the J.W. Westcott, which delivers mail to passing Great Lakes freighters. Both July 16 and 17 will feature an Ultimate Air Dog Show, which features dock-jumping dogs. Events on Sunday, July 17 — including the craft show, Air Dogs and fine art — begin around 11 a.m.

Transportation each day will be provided by a free trolley. To see a more detailed schedule of events and to learn more, visit nauticalmile.org.
